Lloyd’s List Intelligence expands reach with stewardship of Lloyd’s Agency Network
LLOYD’S List Intelligence has announced that it will take over management responsibilities of the Lloyd’s Agency Network, bringing the world’s largest marine surveying and claims‑adjusting network directly into its intelligence platform.
The move gives Lloyd’s List Intelligence direct control of casualty reporting and local expert verification, strengthening the speed, accuracy and resilience of data used across the maritime, insurance and trade‑finance sectors.
The Lloyd’s Agency Network comprises more than 250 agents operating 24/7 across key ports and commercial centres worldwide.
Its integration with LLI’s data, analytics and AIS capabilities will deepen coverage in complex and sensitive regions, expand real‑world validation of incidents such as AIS anomalies, and improve resilience and uptime across LLI’s global intelligence network. LLI also gains direct stewardship of high‑quality casualty data and on‑the‑ground expert insight, enabling richer analysis and faster validation.
“This transaction reinforces Lloyd’s List Intelligence’s long‑term strategy to build a globally resilient intelligence platform serving the maritime, insurance and broader trade‑finance ecosystem,” said LLI chief executive Waqas Samad.
The network will continue to operate under the Lloyd’s Agents brand, preserving the long‑standing partnership between Lloyd’s and LLI. Lloyd’s will remain closely involved, supporting agents and contributing to the wider market’s resilience.
“Lloyd’s Agency Network and Lloyd’s List Intelligence share a long heritage of evolving alongside the maritime and insurance markets we serve. Bringing the agents fully into LLI strengthens the combination of high-quality data, advanced analytics, deep market expertise and trusted human intelligence that defines the LLI business mode,” said Parvin Conners, chief data officer of Lloyd’s List Intelligence.
"The agents enhance our port-side visibility and provide the on-the-ground insight that gives context and credibility to our analytics. In turn, they become part of a more connected global organisation that extends beyond insurance, benefiting from our wider intelligence, shipping and analyst capabilities. This feels like a natural extension of an already close partnership, further crystallising a relationship that has long delivered value to the market.”
Dawn Miller, Lloyd’s chief commercial officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, said: “This transaction brings together complementary capabilities built on a shared commitment to quality and expertise. Closer integration with Lloyd’s List Intelligence will give Lloyd’s Agents access to richer data and broader market opportunities, strengthening the Lloyd’s market while preserving the high standards and professionalism that define the network.”
LLI will assume management of the Lloyd’s Agency Network from the Lloyd’s group from April 1, 2026.
