Flex LNG chief executive Øystein Kalleklev resigns

Bermuda-based Flex LNG Ltd chief executive officer Øystein Kalleklev has resigned from his position to pursue other opportunities.

Flex LNG said that its board of directors under the chairmanship of Ola Lorentzon has accepted the resignation by Øystein Kalleklev from his role as chief executive officer (CEO).

Kalleklev joined Flex LNG in October 2017 and was appointed CEO in August 2018 and has been with the company for exactly seven and a half years.

The board has appointed Marius Foss, chief commercial officer, as interim CEO.

As it is reported by the company, Kalleklev will however be available in an advisory capacity until end of the third quarter to ensure a smooth transition period.

Under his stewardship, the company has delivered strong performance and shareholder value creation. While we regret his decision to step down, we are grateful for his dedication and wish him all the very best in his future,” said Ola Lorentzon, chairman of Flex LNG.
