While revealing that the Exmar Ship Management crew completed its largest STS transfer of ammonia, the shipowner explained that Kortrijk, the firm’s midsize gas carrier with a capacity of 38,500 cubic meters (cbm), safely discharged full cargo of ammonia, in collaboration with Trammo at the port of Sohar, Oman.

The Belgian shipping player highlighted: “This milestone operation is the perfect example of the professionalism of our well-trained crew and their adherence to the highest safety and operational protocols throughout the transfer.

“Having over 40 years of experience in handling and transporting ammonia, we continue to build on our expertise in this type of cargo, positioning us strongly as ammonia is increasingly expected to play a key role as a fuel for marine transport.”
