Capital (Marinakis) takes delivery of eco-tanker duo by NTS in China

Evangelos Marinakis-led Capital Ship Management Corp. (Capital) added to its new fleet portfolio another vessel. The Greek powerful businessman, chairman and founder of Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, Marinakis took delivery recently of two 115,621-dwt, eco-type crude oil/product carriers, built by New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) in China.

The newbuilding vessels Aisopos and Aiolos proudly sail under the Greek flag, marking a significant milestone, as they are the first Greek-flagged vessels delivered by NTS.

Delivery festivities were well attended by high-ranking officials from Capital, NTS, and other organizations and companies.

Lloyd’s Register has assigned the two sister vessels the top classification, holding the 100A1 notation.

As it is reported, both vessels are installed with certified AMP (cold ironing) and equipped with a shaft generator to improve EEDI, CII, and DFOC.
