Pakistan plots first-ever US crude oil shipments to rebalance trade deficit
Crude tanker owners may soon have a new source of long-haul business after Pakistan signalled it could import US oil for the first time.
Reuters cited a Pakistan government official and a refinery executive as saying the country intends to offset a trade imbalance with the shipments, after triggering higher US tariffs.
The state source, who is directly involved with the proposal, said: "It is one of the products being reviewed ahead of a delegation leaving for the US to talk about tariffs."
