Hitachi Champions the Growth of Rail Expertise in Malaysia

MALAYSIA: in an exciting advancement, Prasarana, the public transport operator, has teamed up with Hitachi Rail to boost the operation and upkeep of SelTrac metro signalling. This collaboration is set to align with Malaysia’s TVET Policy 2030, which focuses on equipping the workforce with skills that are relevant to today’s industries.

The partnership will kick off several initiatives aimed at creating digital tools for predictive maintenance and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on research and development in lasting railway engineering.

Ziad Rizk,Managing Director of Urban Rail Signalling at Hitachi Rail,expressed enthusiasm about this partnership on April 23.He stated that their long-standing relationship with Prasarana has played a crucial role in enhancing rail operations over the past three decades. Rizk added that they are eager to contribute further to Malaysia’s rail sector growth.
