Forging New Horizons: Qatar Airways, IAG Cargo, and MASkargo Unite for a Global Logistics Alliance
According to a recent publication by Air Cargo News, Qatar Airways Cargo, IAG Cargo, and MASkargo are on the verge of launching their Global Cargo Joint Business. With regulatory approvals still pending, they anticipate rolling out this collaboration by late 2025.
This joint venture aims to enhance customer options for cargo bookings across an extensive network. It will link vital regions such as asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas while introducing new routes that were previously unavailable through individual bookings.
David Shepherd, CEO of IAG Cargo, expressed enthusiasm about this initiative: “This proposed joint business signifies a transformative shift for our customers. By establishing a unified network, we’re opening doors to fresh commercial opportunities. Our system will be more efficient and reliable compared to traditional interline agreements.”
The three airlines intend to synchronize their systems and services for a more seamless customer experience. They plan to optimize cargo space on both freighter and passenger aircraft while enhancing ground handling logistics and trucking operations. Additionally, they aim to provide shared digital tools along with loyalty perks.
Mark Jason Thomas from MASkargo highlighted the significance of this partnership: “This collaboration marks an meaningful milestone not just for us but also for the global cargo sector. Joining forces with Qatar Airways Cargo and IAG allows us to broaden our reach considerably while facilitating smoother connectivity across continents.”
Beyond commercial interests, these airlines are also teaming up with the UN World Food Program (WFP). They have committed to donating 1,000 tons of free cargo space aimed at delivering essential food supplies for humanitarian efforts worldwide.

As they continue working toward securing necessary regulatory approvals, these partners promise further updates as their launch date approaches.
