Boeing Dispatches Team to Investigate Indian Air Disaster

According to a recent report from The Guardian, Boeing has dispatched a group of specialists to India to aid in the state-led inquiry regarding the Air India crash that occurred in Ahmedabad. Officials from both the U.K. and U.S. have also made their way to the city.

The incident involving the Boeing 787, which inexplicably descended shortly after takeoff, has raised new concerns about the aircraft manufacturer, despite it’s Dreamliner model being operational for over ten years.

In light of these developments, Boeing has opted out of this week’s Paris airshow—a key venue for aviation companies to unveil notable orders. On June 16, Bloomberg highlighted that Airbus SE secured two considerable orders from Saudi Arabian clients at this event, potentially worth up to $17 billion, giving them an early advantage over Boeing Co.

Boeing’s CEO Kelly Ortberg and Stephanie Pope, who leads its commercial planes division, informed employees on June 12 that they would not be attending the airshow “to prioritize our team and concentrate on our customers and also the ongoing examination.”

In his public remarks,Ortberg emphasized that their team is “prepared to assist” with inquiries led by India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) as efforts continue to determine what caused this tragic accident.
