Thyssenkrupp Explores Tesla's Electric Semi-Truck for Enhanced 3PL Solutions
A recent publication by Thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services reveals that the company has successfully tested tesla’s electric semi-truck over a distance of 5,000 miles in challenging winter conditions. This initiative is part of their commitment to achieving net-zero emissions.
In a statement released on June 26, Thyssenkrupp announced the completion of a pilot program at logistics hubs in California, aimed at assessing the efficiency and performance of Tesla’s electric vehicle (EV) semi. Tesla claims that its semi-truck can cover up to 500 miles on a single charge and can regain approximately 70% of its range within just half an hour when using one of their specialized chargers.
Thyssenkrupp aims for global carbon neutrality by 2050, with an ambitious target set for Germany to reach this goal by 2045, aligning with national climate initiatives established in 2018. Additionally, data from telematics provider Geotab indicates an notable 81% surge in EV adoption across U.S. commercial fleets between 2022 and 2023. Moreover, research from TRC Company highlights that new electric vehicle deliveries have doubled this year across various sectors including education and long-haul transportation.
