Latest Insights on the UK Rail Network: Key Developments and Trends

A recent publication by Transport for London (TfL) reveals that funding has been secured for a £44 million overhaul of the Pontoon Dock station, part of the Docklands Light Railway in London. Morgan Sindall infrastructure will led this aspiring project, which is set to kick off in summer 2026 and wrap up by late 2028. The upgrades will feature six new escalators, an expanded mezzanine level, and enhancements to the surrounding area—think better public spaces and landscaping with potential retail options. These changes aim to ease congestion, alleviate pressure on lifts, and enhance accessibility for all users. Notably, Pontoon Dock is perched about 13 meters above street level, making it one of the highest stations on the DLR network.
