Lufthansa Cargo Launches New Weekly A321 Freight Route to Beirut
As reported by Lufthansa Cargo, their Airbus A321 freighter made its inaugural landing in Beirut on thursday, July 3, 2025, kicking off a new weekly route connecting Frankfurt with the Lebanese capital.
This service operates under flight numbers LH8354 and LH8355 every Thursday. The announcement came during the air cargo Europe and transport logistic trade fair held in Munich on June 3, 2025. This new route not only adds dedicated cargo capacity but also complements existing bellyhold options across the Lufthansa Group. With this addition, Lufthansa Cargo now serves over 50 destinations throughout the Middle East and Africa.
“Beirut’s unique position and varied export offerings make it an essential logistics center. Our freighter connection through Frankfurt will facilitate a diverse array of exports—including perishables, pharmaceuticals, textiles, electronics, and traditional crafts from Lebanon—into Europe and beyond,” stated Antonio Tassone, who oversees Sales and Handling for regions including the Middle East.
Tassone further noted that this route will bolster trade with neighboring Syria as cross-border activities begin to pick up pace again. Oliver Rossius from Scheduling and Network Steering emphasized that “Frankfurt’s status as a key logistics hub in Europe paired with its robust infrastructure makes it an ideal launch point for our new service to Beirut. This connection presents ample opportunities for exporters globally aiming to tap into Lebanon’s market where ther is increasing demand for premium products.”
