Citing data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Management (NHTSA), Nissan is recalling over 480,000 vehicles across North America due to possible manufacturing flaws that could lead to engine issues.

This recall affects specific models including the Nissan Rogue from the years 2021 to 2024, along wiht certain Altima models from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, several Infiniti QX50s and QX55s produced between 2019 and 2022 are included in this action.

The problem lies within certain “VC-Turbo” engines that may have defective bearings. According to NHTSA’s report, these defects could result in engine damage or even failure while driving—heightening the risk of accidents.

Models affected include:
– Nissan Rogue (2021-2024)
– Altima (2019-2020)
– Infiniti QX50 (2019-2022)

The breakdown shows that approximately 443,899 vehicles are involved in this recall within the U.S., while 37,837 units are affected in Canada as confirmed by a spokesperson for Nissan on July third.

Nissan plans to address these issues by having dealers inspect the engine pans of affected vehicles and perform necessary repairs or replacements at no cost. The recall specifically targets those with either a three-cylinder or four-cylinder VC-Turbo engine configuration. The extent of repairs will depend on findings during inspections.

Nissan emphasized its dedication to customer safety through this recall initiative.By late August, they will send out notification letters advising owners on how to proceed if their vehicle is impacted.
