Etihad Cargo Partners with Ezhou Huahu Airport for Enhanced Logistics Collaboration

According too a recent announcement, Etihad Cargo, the logistics division of Etihad Airways, has forged a strategic partnership with Ezhou Huahu Airport during the Air Cargo Europe 2025 event. This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity throughout the Asia-Pacific region and boost trade opportunities between China and international markets.

The agreement was formalized by Stanislas Brun, chief Cargo Officer at Etihad Airways, alongside Mr. Luo Guowei from Hubei Airport Group Company and Mr. Li Wei from Hubei International Logistics Airport Company. The signing ceremony took place at the Etihad Cargo booth and signifies the beginning of a long-term alliance between these two entities.

This partnership will see Etihad cargo solidifying its presence at Ezhou Huahu Airport, which is set to become an essential hub in its extensive network across China. This move complements existing operations in major cities like Shanghai (PVG) and Shenzhen (SZX), providing customers with enhanced access and adaptability.

“Ezhou Huahu Airport is already well-regarded in China for its remarkable logistics capabilities,” stated Stanislas Brun. “This collaboration will extend EzhouS strengths into Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It’s an exciting chance to develop more efficient logistics solutions; those who don’t engage with this corridor may miss out on notable opportunities.”

The focus of this partnership includes increasing flight frequencies, launching new routes, and developing joint initiatives for cross-border e-commerce and also cold chain logistics tailored for high-value manufacturing sectors. By integrating Ezhou’s warehouse facilities with Etihad’s global network, they aim to create a streamlined trade channel that enhances market access for Chinese exports while improving inbound logistics.

Currently, Etihad operates four Boeing 777 freighters weekly to Ezhou Huahu Airport—Asia’s first dedicated cargo airport that opened in 2022—with extraordinary infrastructure featuring 135 aircraft stands and dual runways measuring 3,600 meters each capable of handling up to 3.3 million tonnes of cargo annually. Situated in Hubei Province, it boasts unmatched domestic reach along with expanding international connections.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our airport’s global expansion,” remarked mr. Luo Guowei from Hubei international Logistics Airport Company. “Etihad’s strategic network based out of Abu Dhabi opens new avenues for Chinese exporters; we are eager to strengthen ties across continents while exploring further collaborative opportunities.”

This agreement aligns perfectly with Etihad Cargo’s strategy aimed at fostering integrated regional partnerships that deliver real value within the air cargo sector while supporting China’s rising influence in global logistics innovation.
