Baltic dry index climbs to four-week high as vessel rates strengthen

The Panamax index rose 89 points, or 4.8 per cent, to 1,949, marking its highest level since June 18 last year. Average daily earnings for Panamax vessels gained $801 to $17,544.

Among smaller vessels, the supramax index added 25 points, or 2.1 per cent, to 1,244.
