Set up in 2005 by Anna Madden and Julia Gallagher, Curo has been serving a wide range of UK and international clients.
This acquisition is the fourth undertaken by Dains since receiving backing from IK Partners, a private equity firm.
Madden said: “When Julia and I founded Curo, our vision was to combine the technical standards of a’ Big Four’ firm with the personal service and flexibility that clients truly value.
“Over the years, we’ve built long-lasting relationships and supported clients with increasingly complex and international needs.

Don’t let policy changes catch you off guard. Stay proactive with real-time data and expert analysis.
By GlobalData“Joining the Dains Group allows us to continue that journey with greater scale and resources, while keeping the trusted relationships that sit at the heart of our firm.”
With the integration of Curo, Dains aims to extend its capabilities in areas often associated with larger firms, the company said in a statement.
Curo’s existing team in Bromsgrove will continue their operations, led by co-founders Madden and Gallagher.
Advisory services for the acquisition were provided to Dains by DSW, PDW, Cyber Crowd, and Mercia for various due diligence aspects.
Curo received guidance from Transcend Corporate on corporate finance matters and Shakespeare Martineau on legal issues.
Dains Group CEO Richard McNeilly stated: “Curo has built an outstanding reputation for technical excellence and long-standing client relationships.
“Its ability to deliver complex audits and cross-border tax work, while maintaining a highly personal approach, is rare in the market and complements our own strengths perfectly.
“By bringing our teams together, we’re strengthening our ability to provide clarity and confidence to clients navigating complex challenges, whilst extending the breadth of services and support available to them.”
In September 2025, Dains Group acquired TBAT Innovation, a consultancy specialising in research and development tax incentives and grant funding.
