Each solar project has an estimated renewable generation capacity of up to 12.6MWp per project.

The acquisition remains contingent on the fulfilment of specific conditions precedent and legal requirements.

Once the transactions are closed, Ecopetrol aims to further its decarbonisation and energy transition objectives by increasing its installed capacity, moving closer to its goal of 900MW of self-generated renewable energy.

These efforts are intended to support and diversify the company’s energy mix in line with its 2040 strategy and enable the generation of low-emission energy for Ecopetrol Group’s own use under competitive market conditions, decreasing the need for bilateral energy contract purchases, and limiting the company’s exposure to spot market energy prices.
