Lloyds Banking Group has named Amanda Murphy as the incoming CEO for its business and commercial banking (BCB) division, supporting micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.

Pending regulatory clearance, the appointment follows Elyn Corfield’s decision to step down in 2026, concluding nearly nine years with the group.

Murphy is scheduled to join in February 2026.

Most recently, she was based in Singapore, where she was Asia commercial banking co-head and South and Southeast Asia commercial banking head at HSBC.

Before these roles in Asia, she served in several senior roles within HSBC’s UK BCB division from 2013 until 2021, including as UK commercial banking head from 2017 to 2021.

Lloyds Banking Group CEO Charlie Nunn said: “Elyn Corfield has had an extraordinary career at both MBNA and ultimately at Lloyds after its acquisition in 2017. In her most recent role as CEO of our BCB team, she has led the way in comprehensively transforming our business to better serve our small and medium-sized business clients.

“In addition to this, she has contributed passionately to some of the UK’s biggest business challenges in the areas of regional regeneration and diverse entrepreneurship, including through the Black in Business initiative and disabled founders work as part of the government’s Lilac Review.”

Corfield said: “Supporting this segment of the UK business community has been a true honour, but the time has come for me to step away to take a period of family time. In Amanda, we have found an outstanding leader who will be joining a great team with exciting plans for the future.”
