Port of Los Angeles appoints new Chief of Staff

The Port of Los Angeles has named Stephanie Magnien Rockwell Chief of Staff to the Executive Director.

In this role, she will oversee special projects, manage executive and administrative matters, provide high-level staff support, and serve as the Port’s representative to Los Angeles city officials and stakeholders. Additionally, the Port’s Internal Audit Division will report directly to her.

“Stephanie brings a highly diversified set of skills and experience to this important position,” stated Gene Seroka, Port of Los Angeles Executive Director. “With her proven track record of leadership and results, we’re thrilled to elevate her into this new role.”

Previously, Stephanie Magnien Rockwell served as a Legislative Representative in the Workforce and Government Affairs Division, acting as the Port’s liaison to City Hall. Since joining the Californian Port in 2018, she has contributed to various divisions, including Contracts and Purchasing.

Her career includes roles with California State Assembly Member Judy Chu, Los Angeles City Councilmembers Jan Perry and Bob Blumenfield, and the Los Angeles City Administrative Officer.

Stephanie Magnien Rockwell holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from USC and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
