Drewry: The World Container Index Increased 41% this week 23-2025 | Container news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates now with top increasing levels. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 41% to $3,527 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Los Angeles increased 57% or $2,138 to $5,876, and Shanghai to New York increased 39% or $1,992 to $7,164 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from Shanghai to Genoa rose 38% or $1,129 to $4,068 per FEU.

Likewise, rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased 32% or $686 to $2,845 per 40-foot box.

The freight rates Rotterdam to Shanghai increased 10% or $47 to $509, and Rotterdam to New York 2% or $38 to $1,9770 per 40-foot container.

The rates from New York to Rotterdam dropped 1% or $9 to $821 per FEU. Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain stable.
