Central American port volumes rise in Q1 2025
Central American ports handled 3.65 million TEU in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 2% year-on-year increase.

Growth was driven by a strong 9% surge along the Pacific coast, led by Balboa (+8%) and Puerto Quetzal (+21%).
However, gains were tempered by a 2% decline on the larger Caribbean side, where only Almirante and Santo Tomás de Castilla reported volume growth.
