Descartes optimizes Grupo Petrópolis fleet

Beverage producer Grupo Petrópolis has improved its national delivery operations by using Descartes Systems Group’s routing and fleet management solution.

With a fleet of around 2,900 vehicles, the company distributes beverages across Brazil. Since adopting the system, it has achieved 98% on-time deliveries, reduced overtime by 9%, and cut fuel use by 5%.

”To better meet customer needs, we wanted a fleet management platform to enhance on-time performance, improve service in case of returns or customer concerns and advance sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions. The Descartes solution gives us a new level of control and visibility into our large distribution network,” said Luís Moura, Manager, Grupo Petrópolis.

The Descartes platform uses real-time data to plan and adjust delivery routes. It helps drivers avoid traffic, shorten travel time, and cut costs. It also tracks planned vs. actual deliveries and monitors key events like delays, breaks, or route changes.

Grupo Petrópolis says the tool has helped streamline its operations while supporting more sustainable practices.

”Our collaboration with Grupo Petrópolis highlights how advanced routing solutions can help transform complex distribution environments into highly efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused logistics operations,” said Douglas Alves, Sales Executive, Descartes.

The solution is part of Descartes’ wider suite for routing, mobile, and telematics services. It’s designed to help food and beverage companies manage large-scale fleets and keep service levels high, even when conditions change.
