CMA CGM launches direct Vung Tau–Mediterranean link

CMA CGM has introduced a new direct call at Vung Tau, Vietnam, on its MEX1 service, strengthening connectivity between Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean. The call will operate from the company’s own Gemalink Terminal, offering an exclusive market solution.

The first vessel on the new route, m/v CMA CGM Jules Verne (voy. 0MEM3W1MA), is scheduled to arrive in Vung Tau on October 27, before continuing to Valencia (November 25), Barcelona (November 28), Fos-sur-Mer (November 30), and Malta (December 5).

The new call is supported by a fast barge service from Phnom Penh, providing competitive transit times and seamless integration into CMA CGM’s regional and global network.

With this addition, CMA CGM becomes the only carrier offering a direct service from Vung Tau to the Mediterranean, further reinforcing its position in the Vietnamese and Cambodian markets.
