Deutsche Binnenreederei rebrands as Rhenus PartnerShip Berlin

From 1 January 2026, Deutsche Binnenreederei (DBR) will operate under the new name Rhenus PartnerShip Berlin. The rebrand highlights DBR’s integration into the Rhenus Group and creates a unified identity within European inland waterway transport.

The new brand combines decades of expertise from DBR and Rhenus under one name. All structures, services, and locations in Berlin, Magdeburg, and Hamburg will remain unchanged.

Founded in 1949, DBR has long been a key player in inland shipping across eastern Germany, Poland, and the North German canal network. With a strong fleet and focus on container, bulk, and heavy cargo, the company has built a reputation for reliability and performance.

The rebranding strengthens Rhenus’s presence across Europe’s inland waterways, extending from Germany and Poland to the Benelux countries, France, and the Danube region.

“This change brings together two companies that belong together — not only operationally but also in brand identity,” said Philip Tomaskowicz, Managing Director of Rhenus PartnerShip. “Together, we operate one of Europe’s largest inland fleets and deliver integrated transport solutions to our customers.”

The move marks both a strategic step forward and a return to Rhenus’s roots in inland shipping, which began over a century ago.
