Marcura, CFARER team up on smarter ship procurement
Marcura and CFARER have formed a strategic partnership to connect e-commerce procurement with technical fleet operations worldwide.
Under the agreement, ShipServ becomes the recommended e-commerce platform for Ship Manager Procurement, which supports around 2,000 vessels. The partnership also brings VesselMan to CFARER customers for digital dry-docking, inspections, and technical project management.
By integrating ShipServ with Ship Manager Procurement, purchasing teams gain direct access to more than 50,000 pre-vetted suppliers from within existing workflows. Automated compliance checks, benchmarking, and e-invoicing run in the background, while AI-driven insights identify the most reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
VesselMan adds structured planning for dry-dockings and technical projects, improving coordination between procurement and yard schedules. The collaboration also connects Marcura’s procurement analytics with CFARER’s onboard data through Ship Manager Technical and Ship Manager Analyzer, aligning purchasing with real-time maintenance needs and inventory levels.
“Procurement teams need control and timely access to the right suppliers. This partnership delivers both,” said Sharon Gill, Senior Vice President, Commercial and Partner Alliances at Marcura.
Stian Omli, Chief Commercial Officer at CFARER, said the partnership helps fleets operate more efficiently. “Together we help fleets work faster and with more confidence, at sea and ashore,” he said.
Under the deal, both companies will coordinate client onboarding. CFARER will exclusively recommend ShipServ for Ship Manager Procurement, while VesselMan will be available to operators seeking digitized dry-docking and inspection workflows.
