MacGregor wins contract for nine new RoPax vessels

MacGregor has secured a major contract to supply cargo access solutions for nine new RoPax vessels included in the Grimaldi Group’s fleet renewal program. The order covers equipment for three vessels for Finnlines, four for Grimaldi Euromed, and two for Minoan Lines. All nine ships will be built at China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard.

MacGregor booked the order in the third quarter of 2025.

The company said the contract reflects close cooperation with all project partners and a tailored approach to each vessel’s requirements. The order spans two ship designs. Finnlines will receive three vessels with 5,400 lane meters and accommodation for 1,000 passengers. Another six ships, four for Grimaldi Euromed and two for Minoan Lines, will feature 3,300 lane meters and capacity for 2,500 passengers. These vessels will operate in the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Baltic Sea regions.

“This is a fantastic achievement that reinforces our commitment to our customers,” said Magnus Sjöberg, Executive Vice President of MacGregor’s Merchant Solutions division. “By collaborating closely with the owner and our key partners, we showed our ability to deliver the right solutions. This order highlights the strength of our global team.”
