COSCO launches WSA3 service from Yangpu Port
COSCO has officially launched its WSA3 Far East–South America West service from Yangpu Port, opening a new direct trade corridor between Hainan and key markets in South America. The new route is now operational and is expected to deliver faster transit times, lower logistics costs and greater reliability for regional exporters and importers.
With WSA3, premium frozen aquatic products from Hainan — including tilapia — can now be shipped directly to destinations such as Peru and Chile, avoiding transshipment delays and improving overall supply-chain efficiency.
South American exports, including Peruvian avocados and Chilean cherries, will also benefit from the direct service combined with Yangpu’s free-trade zone policies, enabling fresher arrivals in China at reduced cost.
COSCO said the launch of the WSA3 route enhances global connectivity for Yangpu Port, strengthens two-way trade between China and South America, and delivers improved service quality and efficiency for businesses and consumers on both ends of the route.
