Maersk introduces winter blanking plan on TA1 service
Maersk has announced a planned winter blanking programme on its TA1 service to mitigate the impact of severe North Atlantic weather, which historically affects schedule reliability during the colder months.
Under the plan, the TA1 service will “slide” every seventh week from the Christmas and New Year period through to the end of April, beginning with voyage 607W in Antwerp. Maersk said the measure is intended to maintain overall service stability during periods of harsh weather.
