Prince Rupert Port Authority appoints new Interim President

The Prince Rupert Port Authority has named Kurt Slocombe as its new Interim President, effective January 1, 2026.

The appointment was approved by the PRPA Board of Directors. Slocombe currently serves as Vice President of Operations, Planning and Infrastructure, a role he has held since joining the organization in 2019.

He brings deep experience in gateway operations. Slocombe has lived in Prince Rupert since 2007, after relocating to the community as part of the original team that launched operations at the Fairview Container Terminal. Over the years, he held several senior roles at the terminal, including Director of Operations and Director of the Gateway Operations Centre, a joint venture between DP World and CN.

Board Chair Peter Lantin said Slocombe is well positioned to guide the authority during the transition period. He also thanked outgoing President and CEO Shaun Stevenson for his leadership, vision, and long-standing commitment to the growth of the Port of Prince Rupert.

The Board has launched a comprehensive search for a permanent President and CEO. It says ensuring continuity and a smooth leadership transition remains a top priority.
