GXO names Patrick Byrne as Non-Executive Chairman
GXO Logistics has announced that Brad Jacobs will step down as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board effective December 31, 2025. Patrick Byrne will succeed him in the role.
The transition follows a period of significant change at GXO. The company has appointed a new CEO, strengthened its senior leadership team, added seven independent board members, and secured regulatory approval for its acquisition of Wincanton.
Jacobs said he remained chairman beyond his original commitment following the GXO spin-off and noted that the company is now well positioned for its next phase of growth.
Byrne said he is honored to take on the role and credited Jacobs’ leadership with building the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider. He added that the board will continue to work closely with management to drive growth and value creation.
Byrne joined the GXO board in July 2025. He brings more than three decades of experience in digital transformation and operational leadership, including senior roles at GE Digital, General Electric, Fortive, Danaher, and Tektronix. He also serves as Non-Executive Chair of Diebold Nixdorf and Chair of Verra Mobility.
