Krey Schiffahrt taps Inmarsat NexusWave for new vessels

Krey Schiffahrt will deploy Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave on its four newbuild heavy lift vessels. The service will provide unlimited, high-speed connectivity to support operational efficiency and crew welfare.

The German ship manager currently operates eight modern multi-purpose heavy lift vessels and is expanding its fleet to meet growing project cargo demands. The new vessels feature optimized hull designs and innovative propulsion systems, reducing CO₂ emissions by over 35% compared to similar ships.

NexusWave ensures seamless connectivity for performance monitoring and energy management systems. The bonded multi-network service combines global coverage, managed performance, and unlimited data for operational and crew applications.

Captain Maxim Babenko, Nautical Superintendent at Krey Schiffahrt, said, “Reliable connectivity is a must for our new vessels. NexusWave keeps critical systems connected and enhances crew welfare. Partnering with Inmarsat gives us a trusted single provider for all our connectivity needs.”

Jan-Henning Stehr, Sales Manager – Europe, Inmarsat Maritime, added, “Our NexusWave service delivers the high-speed, always-on connectivity needed for state-of-the-art vessels. It supports fuel efficiency, continuous monitoring, and crew wellbeing wherever the ships sail.”
