Worldwide box traffic crosses 1 billion TEU in 2025
Global container traffic in 2025 is set to have exceeded 1 billion TEU, the first time that container shipments have hit such a milestone.
Container shipping consultancy Linerlytica’s figures show that ports in China and Hong Kong account for the lion share of container volumes, with just under 400 million TEU handled in 2025.
