COSCO Shipping Lines joins Ship Message Design Group

COSCO Shipping Lines has joined the Ship Message Design Group (SMDG), strengthening the industry body’s global reach and expertise.

COSCO Shipping Lines operates one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics networks. The company provides container shipping, bulk transport, terminal operations, and end-to-end supply chain solutions. Its fleet and global footprint connect producers, manufacturers, and consumers across key trade lanes.

Through its membership, COSCO Shipping Lines brings deep experience in global shipping and logistics integration. The company will support SMDG’s work to standardise digital messages, improve data interoperability, and strengthen collaboration across the maritime sector.

Ann-Christin Fröhmcke, Co-Chair of SMDG, welcomed the move. She said COSCO Shipping Lines’ global scale and operational expertise add significant value and will help advance shared digital standards for shipping and logistics.
