CMA CGM launches block-train intermodal solution

CMA CGM has introduced a dedicated rail block-train solution in Mexico, expanding its intermodal offering and improving access to key inland markets from the country’s main seaports.

The new service links six core CMA CGM maritime services on global trade routes directly to inland hubs from both the Pacific West Coast and the Gulf Coast. The block-train solution offers four departures per week, guaranteed weekly capacity, and reduced dwell time at port terminals.

CMA CGM said the service delivers faster and more predictable inland transit, with journey times of around five days on major corridors. These routes connect the ports of Lázaro Cárdenas, Manzanillo, and Veracruz with inland destinations including Mexico City, Cuautitlán, Tula, and Guadalajara.

The carrier said the block-train solution is designed to improve reliability, shorten transit times, and provide customers with a seamless end-to-end logistics option, strengthening supply chain efficiency across Mexico’s key trade lanes.
