ONE provides update on fire incident onboard ONE HENRY HUDSON

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has issued a further update regarding the fire incident onboard the vessel ONE HENRY HUDSON, which remains berthed at Yusen Terminal (YTI) at the Port of Los Angeles.

According to ONE, water discharge operations and the removal of distressed cargo from the affected bays were completed on 12 January. Discharge operations for all remaining containers onboard are scheduled to begin from the middle of the current week.

The company also confirmed an update to the General Average (GA) surveyor details. Ken Shortall of TMC Marine has been appointed as GA surveyor, and cargo surveys are expected to commence from 14 January. Customers wishing to participate in joint surveys have been advised to contact the surveyor directly to coordinate arrangements as soon as possible.

Once containers are discharged and cleared from General Average security, salvage security, and any other cargo hold requirements, cargo will be arranged based on destination.

For import cargo destined to or via Los Angeles, containers will be released to customers at Yusen Terminal for local pickup or forwarded to inland destinations in line with the bill of lading. Customers will be individually notified when cargo is ready for collection.

Import cargo destined for Oakland may either be collected directly in Los Angeles by customers, subject to customs clearance at Los Angeles, or transported by ONE to Oakland via rail. For rail movements, customs clearance at Los Angeles is recommended to ensure smooth coordination.

For export cargo moving from or via Los Angeles, ONE will continue to arrange shipment to the intended destinations unless customers request changes to their shipment plans. Customers seeking amendments have been advised to contact their ONE representatives directly.

ONE stated that it is fully cooperating with all relevant stakeholders and will continue to keep customers informed as developments progress.
