Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen appointed interim DNV Group President and CEO
DNV has appointed Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen as Interim Group President and CEO. He will serve while Remi Eriksen is on medical leave.
Last week, DNV Group President and CEO Remi Eriksen was diagnosed with cancer. He is beginning treatment and will step away from his role for several months. Remi remains optimistic about his recovery.
The DNV Board of Directors appointed Ørbeck-Nilssen for the period from 1 February 2026 to 31 August 2026. He currently serves as CEO of DNV’s Maritime business area.
During this period, Cristina Saenz de Santa Maria will act as Interim CEO for Maritime. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Maritime.
“On behalf of the Board, I extend our warmest wishes to Remi for strength and recovery,” said Fredrik Baksaas, Chair of the DNV Board of Directors. “We look forward to welcoming him back.”
“It is an honor to step in for Remi,” said Ørbeck-Nilssen. “Our strategy remains unchanged. We will continue to deliver for our customers and partners without interruption.”
