Wan Hai Lines has issued a service advisory for shipments involving the Middle East following the escalation of military actions between the United States and Israel against Iran, which has created an increasingly unpredictable security environment in the region.

The carrier said it is closely monitoring developments and reaffirmed that the safety of crews, vessels, and cargo remains its highest priority.

Emergency measures for multiple Gulf destinations

Based on its current assessment, the company has implemented emergency operational measures for shipments to, from, or involving several countries and ports in the Gulf region.

The measures apply to cargo connected with:

• United Arab Emirates

• Saudi Arabia (Dammam and Jubail ports)

• Iraq

• Bahrain

• Kuwait

• Qatar

• Oman

Possible operational adjustments

To maintain safety and operational stability, Wan Hai may implement several contingency actions, including:

• Adjusting vessel voyage plans depending on security conditions

• Discharging cargo at contingency ports if required

• Modifying operational arrangements based on real-time developments

These actions will be carried out in accordance with Clause 9 of the company’s Bill of Lading, including the application of force majeure provisions when necessary.

Additional costs may apply

The carrier also stated that all costs related to these emergency measures will be borne by customers. These may include:

• Port deviation charges

• Container detention

• Cargo handling costs

• Transshipment expenses

• Other operational charges

Security-related or emergency surcharges must also be settled in line with company announcements before cargo release.

Carrier pledges communication and support

Wan Hai acknowledged that the measures may create logistical challenges for customers but emphasized its commitment to maintaining transparent communication and service continuity wherever safety allows.
