RCL terminates voyages for three additional vessels

Regional Container Lines (RCL) has declared an immediate End of Voyage for three vessels. This decision follows the heightened escalation of war in the Middle East and volatile circumstances beyond the carrier’s control. Consequently, all cargo on these ships will be discharged at intermediary ports.

Affected vessels and termination ports

The following ships are impacted by this emergency declaration:

• Mv SM MAHI (26002E)

  • Termination Port: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

• Zhong Gu Chong Qing (0005W)

  • Termination Port: Colombo, Sri Lanka

• Zhong Gu Tai Yuan (V.25049W)

  • Termination Port: Nhava Sheva, India

Mandatory surcharges and expenses

To manage the sudden operational shifts, the following financial terms apply to all affected shipments without exception:

1. Mandatory surcharge: A fee of USD 500 per container applies to cover deviation and extra operational costs.

2. Discharge expenses: All costs related to unloading, handling, storage, and any ancillary charges are for the sole account and risk of the cargo owner.

3. Risk transfer: In accordance with the Bill of Lading Terms and Conditions, all risks shift to the cargo owner upon discharge at the termination port.

4. Final delivery: RCL will not move the cargo further. Therefore, shippers must arrange their own transport to the original final destination.
