Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership and CONROO have launched the first two terminal sites in North America fully powered by smartphone-based truck handling technology.

The new system digitizes the entire truck journey, from pre-arrival booking to gate processing and yard navigation.

Truck drivers can now use a mobile app for contactless gate check-in, real-time navigation and terminal processing.

MGTP said the platform improves yard planning, resource utilization and visibility across truck movements inside the terminal.

The system also reduces waiting times and speeds up truck turnaround through a mobile-first workflow.

Because the solution runs entirely on smartphones, terminals do not need gate kiosks, paper documentation or additional hardware infrastructure.

Michael Fratianni said the project improves efficiency, visibility and collaboration across terminal operations.

Martin Tremblay said the new technology completes MGTP’s digital ecosystem by integrating truck handling with the terminal’s TOS, OCR and PDS systems.

Felix Paul Czerny said the platform gives terminals real-time visibility and control over truck movements through smartphone-based tracking and navigation.

MGTP and CONROO said the first two deployments are already underway, with additional terminal locations across North America expected to follow.
