NX Automotive Logistics USA opens new warehouse in Ohio
NX Automotive Logistics USA, Inc. has opened a new warehouse in East Liberty, Ohio, expanding its automotive logistics operations in the US Midwest.
The company held a completion ceremony for Warehouse No. 4 on 15 April at its headquarters in Ohio.
The new facility offers a total floor area of 16,762m² and will support storage, export packaging and warehouse operations for the automotive sector.
NX Automotive Logistics said the expansion responds to growing logistics demand driven partly by increasing EV production in the United States.
Located near major automotive production plants, the warehouse aims to reduce transport lead times and improve shipping and receiving efficiency.
The facility includes 50 dock doors and high-ceiling storage areas designed to support future multi-level storage operations and different cargo types.
The company also introduced several sustainability measures. The warehouse uses LED lighting and electric forklifts, while a rooftop solar power system is currently under installation. NX Automotive Logistics expects the system to cover more than 50% of the facility’s electricity demand.
The company also plans to introduce DX technologies and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to improve productivity and reduce labor requirements.
NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. said the new warehouse will strengthen its logistics infrastructure in the US and support future business growth.
“Since its founding in 1989, our company has continued to grow by focusing primarily on production logistics for the North American automotive industry,” said Shunya Ishii, President of NX Automotive Logistics USA.
“We intend to make the most of this warehouse to aid our customers and the local community over the long term.”
