Former Gatik-controlled tanker under arrest after repair company struggles to find someone to pay its bill

The arrest of an aframax tanker in India has highlighted how rapid changes of ownership, management and names of vessels operating in the more shadowy side of the market is making it challenging for their suppliers to get paid.

On Sunday an arrest warrant was issued against the 105,000-dwt crude carrier Argent (built 2005) in the Indian port of Sikka at the request of an entity called Winzard (Hongkong), which claimed it was owed $750,000-dwt for providing various services in relation to repairs and maintenance of various parts/equipment supplied to the vessel.
