DUBAI, UAE — on May 20, billionaire Elon Musk expressed his intention to remain Tesla’s CEO for the next five years amid growing scrutiny from consumers and fluctuations in stock prices linked to his political engagements with former President Donald Trump.

This statement came during a video session at the Qatar Economic Forum organized by Bloomberg. Recently returning from Doha as part of Trump’s Middle Eastern tour, Musk appeared defensive when questioned about how his political ties might impact his businesses.

A moderator asked him directly if he envisioned himself still leading Tesla in five years. Musk simply replied,“Yes.” When pressed further about any doubts regarding this commitment,he humorously remarked,“I can’t be here if I’m dead.”

Tesla is currently navigating significant challenges as Musk collaborates with Trump on initiatives aimed at streamlining government operations while facing budget cuts across federal agencies.

Musk’s compensation package—once estimated at $56 billion—has been halted by a Delaware judge. During the forum on May 20th, he referred to Chancellor Kathaleen St.Jude McCormick as an “activist masquerading as a judge.” Despite this setback regarding pay structure affecting his decision-making about staying with Tesla long-term, he emphasized that having adequate voting power is crucial so that activist investors cannot easily remove him. p >

“It’s not just about money; it’s about maintaining control over our future,” he explained further while hinting at aspiring plans involving humanoid robots that could revolutionize industries worldwide. p >
