FCS Wins Key E-Commerce Logistics Deal in Frankfurt

According to a recent proclamation from Worldwide Flight Services (WFS),Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS),which is part of the SATS family, has secured a new partnership with EDT-eDirect Transport. This global logistics platform focuses on cross-border e-commerce between China and Europe, and FCS will be offering it’s E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling (EFFH) services at Frankfurt Airport.

This agreement marks an expansion of the existing collaboration between WFS, SATS, and EDT, which already includes operations at CDG and LGG airports. It underscores their dedication to enhancing e-commerce logistics for quicker shipment processing across all locations.

The contract comes alongside FCS’s meaningful investment in boosting its dedicated e-commerce handling facility at Germany’s largest air cargo hub by 300%, increasing it to 2,000 square meters. This upgrade will enable FCS to manage import shipments specifically for EDT more effectively.

As part of this deal, FCS will enhance services for import units through its first-line warehouse that features direct ramp access. This setup allows for rapid breakdowns, sorting processes, and timely deliveries to last-mile transport providers.

Most of the shipments handled by EDT are aimed at German consumers and arrive via scheduled flights operated by major Chinese airlines collaborating with FCS in Frankfurt.

“Our commitment to expanding e-commerce handling capabilities in Frankfurt sends a strong message to partners like EDT about our readiness to meet their specific service needs,” stated claus Wagner,Managing Director of FCS. “With increased capacity and a specialized team focused on e-commerce operations—alongside our established relationships with key airlines from China—we’re well-positioned to support EDT’s business.”

He further noted: “The surge in e-commerce traffic into Germany is impressive. Partnering with EDT as one of our primary dedicated clients will enhance frankfurt Airport’s status as a leading European hub for online commerce while receiving backing from local Customs authorities.”
