In a recent announcement, Buckland RailS Yellow Rail, which specializes in rolling stock engineering services, is set to move its operations from Pride Park to Alstom’s Litchurch Lane facility in Derby by September. This information comes from a report highlighting the strategic shift within the UK rail industry.

The relocation will substantially enhance Yellow Rail’s capabilities, as it will more than double thier workshop area dedicated to wagon and bogie overhauls. Additionally, this new space will accommodate their expanding remote field service operations. The company anticipates creating around 25 new jobs as part of this transition.

The Buckland Group encompasses several entities including Yellow Rail and WH davis,a manufacturer of wagons along with maintenance services through Davis Wagon Services.

“This marks an exciting chapter for us,” stated Paul Cunningham,Managing Director of Yellow Rail on May 28. “Moving to Litchurch Lane not only provides us with essential space for our growth but also fosters closer collaboration with alstom and other partners in the industry to innovate solutions for our clients.”

Andy Butters,who oversees Rolling Stock & Components at Alstom UK & Ireland expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Yellow Rail into their Derby location. He noted that this partnership underscores both companies’ dedication to advancing the UK’s rail sector and represents an crucial step towards realizing Great British Railways’ vision for a vibrant Rail Campus in Derby.
