Revolutionizing Logistics: Freightos and Forward Air Launch LTL eBooking on 7LFreight
As reported by Freightos, freight forwarders in the U.S. can now instantly book less-than-truckload (LTL) and linehaul trucking services through an enhanced partnership with Forward Air corporation.
This collaboration merges Forward’s extensive ground network—which spans over 11,000 lane pairs and more than 100 facilities—into the 7LFreight by WebCargo platform. This integration allows freight forwarders to easily arrange door-to-door, airport-to-door, and door-to-airport trucking services alongside airfreight bookings from a single digital interface.
These new features represent a critically important advancement in unifying the frequently enough-disjointed elements of global supply chains. Freightos is on a mission to establish a comprehensive digital framework where logistics experts can oversee various shipment legs—whether they travel by air, sea, or land—all from one location.
Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos, stated that this expanded partnership aligns with their growth strategy aimed at supporting diverse transaction types throughout each stage—from price discovery to final delivery.“We’re excited to leverage Forward’s exceptional ground network for enhancing multimodal logistics,” he added.
Initially focused on rate distribution alone, this partnership now includes digital booking capabilities and will soon introduce airport cartage services. This enhancement serves as an essential link between airfreight bookings and efficient ground transport solutions for forwarders.
Melissa Feeser, senior vice president of sales at Forward Air, stressed the importance of embracing digital transformation in freight operations. “In today’s fast-paced environment, digitization is crucial,” she remarked. “This collaboration simplifies workflows for our shared customers by enabling quicker and more precise bookings through one platform.” With features like photo-delivery confirmation included for operational accuracy, clients gain better control and visibility over their shipments.
The service is currently being launched on 7LFreight but plans are underway to extend it across the broader Freightos platform including WebCargo. Future developments will encompass digital payment options along with expanded cartage services aimed at creating a fully integrated shipping experience—especially beneficial for international air shipments that transition onto road transport within North America.
Brennan O’Dowd from 7LFreight expressed enthusiasm about their long-standing relationship with Forward: “We’ve enjoyed collaborating over the years; this expanded partnership offers our forwarder customers improved efficiency when booking door-to-door as well as middle mile and last mile deliveries.”
U.S.-based freight forwarders can sign up on the 7LFreight platform to start utilizing Forward’s services while gaining access to an extensive array of both ground and airfreight solutions digitally.
