Indian Navy conducts successful trials of new anti-submarine rocket

The MOD said ERASR has a twin-rocket motor configuration, "to meet a wide spectrum of range requirements with high accuracy and consistency," and uses an indigenously developed electronic time fuse.

A total of 17 ERASRs were successfully test evaluated at different ranges. The MOD said all the specified objectives of the trials such as range performance, electronic time fuse functioning and warhead functioning were successfully demonstrated.

Bharat Dynamics and Solar Defence and Aerospace are the production partners for the new rockets. The MOD said that, with the successful completion of user trials, the Indian Navy is expected to induct the ERASR system "soon."
