Car sales in Greece were up 13.5% in May, according to the country’s statistical authorities, ELSTAT. The data indicates that over 26,000 newly registered vehicles (new and used) came into circulation in May, compared to just under 23,000 in 2024.
Breaking the numbers down, the number of new cars on Greek roads amounted to 16,745 in May, marking a 13.1% rise compared to May 2024.
Looking at the first five months (Jan.-May) of 2025, approximately 112,854 newly registered cars (used and new models) are in circulation, representing a 2.4% uptick compared to the same term last year.
When it comes to motorcycle sales in May 2025, a total of 9,860 over 50 cc (including both new and imported used models) were registered in Greece, marking a significant increase of 24.4% compared to the 7,924 units registered during the same month in 2024. This rise comes in contrast to the 4% year-on-year decline recorded in May 2024 compared to May 2023.
New motorcycle registrations alone reached 9,461 in May 2025, up 25.6% from the 7,531 new units registered in May 2024.
