Galveston LNG Bunker Port (GLBP) has received all the permits it needs to begin construction and aims to starts delivering to customers by 2027.
As announced, once built, the Galveston LNG Bunker Port will become the first dedicated liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling facility for ships on the U.S. Gulf Coast, helping meet the growing demand for cleaner marine fuels.
The project is a joint venture between Pilot LNG and Seapath Group, part of Libra Group. It has received approvals from both the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Coast Guard, along with environmental and air quality permits from Texas state agencies.
This is a crucial milestone for our project and is the culmination of intense effort and hard work by the overall team. I would like to extend my thanks to the many dedicated professionals who made this possible – both the GLBP team and our trusted advisors. We are in the very advantageous position of being the only permitted LNG bunker project in the region. We look forward to beginning LNG bunker deliveries to customers in the second half of 2027.
…said Shaun Davison, Chief Development Officer, Pilot LNG.
