CMA CGM bids to take over Air Belgium’s cargo operations

French shipping and transportation group CMA CGM wants to enhance its air cargo capabilities, submitting a bid to buy Air Belgium’s cargo operations.
This decision follows the Walloon Brabant business court’s recent revocation of Air One Belgium’s previous takeover of Air Belgium earlier in March. Air One Belgium, a consortium of PESO Aviation Management and Air One Holding International, has appealed the decision, with a hearing set for 3 April 2025.
CMA CGM’s proposal, which includes the acquisition of Air Belgium’s cargo operations while retaining its brand and four aircraft, will be reviewed by the court later this month.
It is important to note that by 2026, CMA CGM Air Cargo will have expanded its fleet with eight new-generation A350 freighters.
