Patrick Terminals expands hybrid AutoStrad fleet with Kalmar

Kalmar has secured a major order for 14 hybrid AutoStrad machines from Patrick Terminals, Australia’s leading container terminal operator. The new units will be deployed at the Sydney AutoStrad terminal. The order was recorded in Kalmar’s Q3 2025 intake, with delivery set for Q4 2026.
Patrick Terminals handles more than 3.5 million TEU annually across four major ports, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Fremantle. The new hybrid AutoStrads will join 10 hybrid units ordered in 2020, further expanding the company’s automated and sustainable fleet.
“The Kalmar AutoStrad plays a pivotal role in our operations,” said Michael Jovicic, CEO of Patrick Terminals. “Its reliability and efficiency make it ideal for our business. This investment supports our decarbonisation strategy and strengthens our commitment to sustainable operations.”
Karri Keskinen, Head of Global Sales, Horizontal Transportation at Kalmar, added: “This order reflects Patrick Terminals’ confidence in our technology. We are proud to continue supporting one of the world’s most advanced automated terminal operators.”
