Maersk and CATL forge global strategic partnership

A.P. Moller – Maersk and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate decarbonisation across global supply chains and strengthen CATL’s international logistics capabilities.

The signing ceremony, held on 9 October in Hong Kong, was attended by senior executives from both companies, including Robert Maersk Uggla, Chairman of A.P. Moller – Maersk, and Libin Tan, Chief Customer Officer and Co-President of Sales & Marketing at CATL. The agreement was signed by Morten Bo Christiansen, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Energy Transition at Maersk, and Akin Li, Executive President of Overseas Car Business at CATL.

The partnership builds on a five-year collaboration between the two companies, spanning ocean transportation, intermodal logistics, and supply chain management. Under the new agreement, Maersk will act as CATL’s preferred global logistics partner, providing integrated end-to-end services including ocean and air freight, project logistics, and warehousing.

Both companies will also explore scalable solutions to strengthen CATL’s supply chain resilience and support its continued global expansion, while jointly pursuing sustainability and operational excellence across international markets.
